One of the four traditional healers who received heavy sentences for ritual murder at the Thohoyandou High Court, is dead. News of Tshimomo Munyai’s death spread like wildfire last week after he spent only two months of his 21-year jail sentence. Tshimomo was staying at Tshandama Village, outside Tshilamba.

They went to Nandoni Dam all the way from Mulenzhe village to enjoy tsuma (wild fruit) on Saturday, but their enjoyable trip ended in tragic death when their little boat capsized in the deep waters. Scores of bemused villagers watched on in disbelief as the bodies of cousins Given Baloyi (19) and Rendani Munyai (3) were retrieved from the vicious water of Nandoni Dam on Sunday.

The Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court nearly turned into a circus on Thursday last week, when suspected serial killer Mukosi Mulaudzi (42) claimed that he was promised R100 000 to admit that he was involved several murder cases, including those of Ndivhuwo Tshilimandila (19), Nyadzeni Sivhugwana (14), Shumani Sivhugwana (10) and Lavhelesani Sivhugwana (7) of Tshivhiludulu village in August this year.
