Mr Hustle's latest track inspires hustle spirit

Upcoming reggae artist Mushe Sengadi from Makhitha Village, known by his stage name of Sledge Maro Mr Hustle, has released a song titled “Vhaphandi Hustle”, aimed at encouraging the region’s entrepreneurs. The song, released on Sunday, 28 April, delivers a powerful message, urging potential business tycoons to persevere and double their efforts until they achieve their goals.

With the high unemployment rate, especially among youths, Sledge Maro Mr Hustle said that his song’s uplifting lyrics served as a rallying cry for those on the grind. He encourages them to stay focused and determined on their journey to success, acknowledging that searching for a job these days is also a job on its own.

“My new song is all about praising and encouraging all hustlers to keep pushing until they reach their dreams. At the same time, I want to motivate all learners and students to work hard and stay focused, so they can achieve their goals,” he said.

He said that he had begun his singing journey at the age of 10 after being influenced by acclaimed artists such as the late Lucky Dube, Akon, and Lundi. “Then, in 2013, I decided to look for a quality studio to record my first song, and that’s where my music career started,” he said.

Sledge Maro Mr Hustle has released two EPs, the first titled “Pfulufhedziso” - released in January of this year - and the second on 14 February, named “Valentine”. “Fans are happy with my latest song, and they’re motivated. They say they need more music like this one. I hope to see myself on TV and getting more bookings. I want to be a South African superstar using my language. I want to make history by passing messages,” he said.
