Vho Muofhe hailed as unifier of Tshitanzhe communities

 

The sacred place of Tshitanzhe village near Musunda was abuzz with royal leaders from in and around Thengwe villages under the leadership of Thovhele Vudzidzhena Nethengwe, who had gathered to pay their last respects to Vhakoma Vho Muofhe Tshisudzungwane.

Vhakoma Vho Muofhe was the wife of the late Vhamusanda Vho Nyilenyile Tshisudzungwane and the mother of the current ruler of Tshitanzhe village, Vhamusanda Mulindathavha Tshisudzungwane. She was hailed as a hardworking person and a unifier of the local royal family.

Vho Muofhe was also a member of the Apostolic Church of Portland Oregon Church in Shakadza Village and was known for encouraging communities to follow in her footsteps as a small-scale female farmer. She produced vegetables and mealie meal and generously gave what she produced to those in need.

She was born and raised in Tshitandani village and later married the late royal leader of Tshitanzhe, Vhamusanda Vho Nyilenyile Tshisudzungwane. They were blessed with six children, one of whom has been installed as the current traditional leader of the village, Vhamusanda Mulindathavha Tshisudzungwane.

She passed away on Wednesday, 17 April, after a long illness and was buried in the sacred place of the Tshisudzungwane royal clan on Saturday, 27 April. Some traditional leaders and hundreds of community members, including Vudzidzhena royal wives, paid their last respects.
