Magezi on top of Motsepe League

Magezi FC are the new logleaders for the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League. They moved to the top of the ladder after their 2-1 victory over Bilika All Stars 2-1 at the TT Cholo Stadium in Polokwane.

Although the visitors from Giyani were the first to find the net, Magezi never stopped fighting. They were awarded two penalties later in the game. Magezi are now shining on top of the log with 28 points, one ahead of Bellevue Winners Park.

Winners Park dropped a step down the log after donating points last weekend. They were unexpectedly beaten 1-2 by Joe Express at the Makwarela Stadium. Express’ opening goal was scored by Thembisani Nevhulamba, while Mashudu Tshitaka was on target in the dying minutes of the game.

Great North FC also managed to collect maximum points. They beat Polokwane United 4-2 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. The score was 2-2 when the teams adjourned for the half-time break. Great North came back strongly in the last half and scored two goals in the last 10 minutes of the game.

After losing 0-2 to Bellevue Winners Park at the Giyani Stadium two weeks ago, Dynamos rectified their mistakes and beat Mosesetjane All Stars 3-2 at the same venue last Saturday.

A1 Terrors shared the spoils with Lephalale Young Killers, with whom they played to a goalless draw at the Ephraim Mohale Stadium in Modimolle on Saturday. Mighty FC beat Modimolle Aces 2-0 at the same venue on Sunday.

The other game which ended in a goalless draw was between Giyani Hotspurs and Winners Park at the Giyani Stadium.

He is the longest serving correspondent of the Mirror, having joined us at the end of 1990.  He mainly writes sports reports and resides at Tsianda Village. In 2004, Frank won the National Castle League Award, an award for the best reporter in the SAB league in South Africa.
