Maweja Joe and Barcelona in draw

After donating league points to Bellevue Winners Park at the Tshifulanani Stadium two weeks ago, Joe Maweja made amends last weekend and held Nkowankowa Barcelona to a goalless draw in their ABC Motsepe League match at the Nkowankowa Stadium on Sunday.

The draw was as good as a win for Joe Maweja, considering the fact that Barcelona are a hard nut to crack at home.

The tail-enders, A1 Terrors, registered their first victory when they rose to the occasion and beat Mighty FC 3-0 at the Bela Bela Sanfa Stadium. Mighty were disorganized in all departments from the onset, with their defenders running for cover most of the time.

Terrors took advantage of that and scored two goals within the first 20 minutes. Joel Seoka scored the first in the ninth minute, while Eric Mothapo was on target eight minutes later. Instead of playing attacking football in the last half, Mighty continued to play defensively as if they were leading. That gave Terrors the opportunity to score their third goal, when David Magwaza hit the back of the net in the 79th minute.

Mosesetjane All Stars were too good for Bilika All Stars, whom they beat 3-2 in Mokopane. All Stars were leading 3-0, but complacency hit them and they conceded two late goals.

Gawula Classic could not stop The Dolphins from registering their fifth victory in succession when they suffered a 1-2 defeat at the Eldorado Stadium in Polokwane. Lephalale Young Killers beat Polokwane Academy 2-0 at the TT Cholo Stadium in Polokwane to move to the third position on the log.

The logleaders, Magezi FC, beat Boyne Young Tigers 2-0 at the Boyne Stadium, and Polokwane United held Great North FC to a 2-2 draw.
