Two victories for Gwamasenga United

Gwamasenga United Brothers started the new season with a bang. They collected six points in their first two MMK Administrators League matches.

They beat Tshakhuma Na Ndilani FC 3-0 at the Tshakhuma Malaria grounds on Saturday before narrowly beating Shayandima Disco Five 1-0 at the Gwamasenga grounds the following day.

United Brothers looked disorganized in the first 20 minutes of Sunday's game but gained momentum with time. Thinandavha Makatu, the United Brothers’ central defender, was the first player to go into the referee’s book. He tackled Aluwani Mulaudzi from behind and the referee was lenient enough to let him go with yellow.

Disco Five squandered two easy opportunities in the first half. Their overlapping midfielder, Mpho Munyai, went loose from the right corner and unleashed a half volley from the 25-meter area. The United Brothers’ keeper, Ritshidze Tsanwani, braved the shot and palmed the ball away for a corner kick.

Rotondwa Mpandeli, who was later replaced with Hudivhannyi Nethengwe, missed a fortune in the 35^th minute. He received a beautiful pass from Thinandavha Ndou and shot wide from close range. No goal was seen in the first half, despite numerous attempts by both sides. The keeper of United Brothers, Ritshidze Tsanwani, was warned with a card after a continued argument with the referee.

The goal that earned United Brothers maximum points came in the 68^th minute. Mpho Nenzhelele was on target with a ground cutter after a mix-up within the box.

Disco Five effected another change to their starting lineup in a bid to strengthen their midfield. They introduced Khodani Khangale and sacrificed Oscar Ntshauba. United Brothers managed to maintain their lead until the referee blew the final whistle.
