“Pastor” who rapes sent to life term in jail

 
The Thohoyandou High Court has sentenced James Azwinndini Nedzamba to two life terms after he was found guilty of raping a 13-year-old girl.

Nedzamba (51) of Mbilwi, Makanga village near Sibasa, was found guilty of raping a minor by Judge Godfrey Hetisani, who sentenced him to two life terms last Friday. Nedzamba raped the young girl at her home at Muledane, near Thohoyandou, on March 17 last year.

Nedzamba posed as a ZCC pastor and promised the young girl that he would pray for her. “He instructed the young girl to wrap herself with a towel and to cover her face. From there he instructed her to go into the toilet where he followed her. “He then instructed her to lift her towel and remove her panty, after which he raped her,” says the indictment.

The victim then went to her mother’s bedroom, where the suspect followed her and raped her again. She later informed her mother about the incident and a case was opened with the police.
