Tshindane delivers on promise of new book

When a resident of Lutomboni village in the Nzhelele Valley, Mr Thivhusiwi Tshindane Tshivhula, received the SA Literary Award at the auditorium of the North West University in Potchefstroom in November last year, he promised his followers a new book at the beginning of this year. He kept his promise by publishing a new novel last week.

His new publication, “U gidima hu fhirwa nga u tshimbila” (which translates as “There is no short route to success in life”), hit the shelves of local bookshops last Friday, 19 January. The book is about a girl who dropped out of school and dedicated herself to conjugal life. On the other hand, her peers had furthered their studies and become successful in life. Life became miserable after she had given birth to two children from different fathers.

Tshindane said that he had been working on the book for the past eight months. According to him, the 155-page book has the potential to win him more accolades. His previous publication, “Hone hu tshi tea u maliwa nga vhugai”, has won him two awards within the space of 12 months. Tshindane was named the winner during the launching ceremony of the Alkebulan Authors’ Platform that was held at the Protea Hotel Marriott in Polokwane in December 2022. He was presented with a cheque to the value of R50,000.

Some of the books that Tshindane has published before include “Na rine ri vhathu” and “Ndi mushumo u ne kha lino ndi khou lilesa”.
