Harvest day for Thulamela clubs

Last Sunday was harvest day for the clubs that were affiliated to the Thulamela Local Football Association last season. Prize money to the value of R11 8050 was distributed among the 159 affiliate clubs during the ceremony that was held at the Thohoyandou Indoor sports Centre.

Three people were instantly killed when their car, a Volkswagen Jetta sedan, collided with a bus on the Tshiozwi road in the Sinthumule area last Friday afternoon. The accident took place approximately 8km from the position where a bus and a car accident happened on the 6th of last month. Four people were killed in that accident.

Villagers are living in fear after being terrorized by lions at Bennde Mutale, near Tshikondeni Mine. The lions have so far mauled more than 30 cattle belonging to the local villagers and there is fear that the bloodthirsty animals can even attack community members.
