Businessman shot dead by unknown gunmen

A well-known businessman in the Segosese area, Mr Boy William Seshoka (60), was shot and killed by an unknown gunman last Friday night at about 22:00. According to the police spokesperson in the Mopani area, Capt Moatshe Ngoepe, the deceased was relaxing with his wife on the veranda of their Sephukubwe village house when the incident occurred.

Municipal Manager is not above the law

"The law is the law." These were the words of the Makhado Municipality's Municipal Manager, Mr Reuben Rambado who earlier this week had to pay a R300 traffic fine after his thirteen-year-old son was caught driving his vehicle on Friday (7th).

Malaria levels down to normal

An increase in cases of malaria in the northern region of the province was quickly brought under control and is now down to normal levels. The Department of Health and Welfare has a task force of more than 800 full-time officials in the field to actively combat the disease.

Street kids shared a loaf of bread they got from a dustbin in Thohoyandou. "We were born free, but find ourselves chained by poverty and hunger. Our parents dumped us, but God saved us that is why we share everything," said one of the street kids.
