Department owes us money, says ABET teachers

Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) teachers voiced their concerns to Mirror last week, stating that they were tired of getting paid late every month by the Department of Education in Vhembe. Other teachers claim that the department owes them money as they did not receive their salary in November last year.

Serial robbers Marshal Nndakhulu Khangale (22) and Paul Luvhimbi “Seven” Manyaga (30) were made to pay for their crimes by the Thohoyandou High Court last Friday when Judge Godfrey Hetisani sentenced them to 52 years’ and 103 years’ imprisonment respectively.

There is as yet no clarity on a possible alternative site where the masses of destitute people arriving from Zimbabwe van be settled in Musina while waiting to be considered for asylum permits. There is also still no official provision for sheltered care to those who have received their asylum papers and have nowhere to go.
